the high risk
of terrorist activity by militant groups. You should pay close attention
to your personal
security at all times and monitor the media and other local information
sources for
information about possible new safety or security risks.
You should be particularly vigilant in the lead up to and on days of national
significance such as Republic Day (26 January) and Independence Day (15
August),
as militants have in the past used such occasions to mount attacks.
On 25 August 2007, over 40 people were killed and at least 56 injured when
bombs
exploded in the area of Lumbini Park and in the Koti area in Hyderabad
in the
state of Andhra Pradesh. Australians are advised to avoid the areas of
Lumbini Park
and the Koti area until the situation returns to normal.

New Delhi and other major cities in India.

over
200 people. Alert levels remain raised across India with additional security

may cause
delays for passengers.

state of Utter
Pradesh following the deaths of four people in a traffic accident. Curfews
